About Hike the long way

Hi, I’m Rebecca,

I’m a blogger who can’t get enough of being outdoors! I spend my spare time walking in the beautiful British countryside and have a passion for long-distance hiking.

It took one charity challenge walk in 2012 (The London Moonwalk – 26.2 miles overnight) for me to get hooked on long-distance walking. Before then I’d always loved the countryside but wouldn’t have called myself a ‘hiker’.

But after that one (painfully-completed) challenge I set out to do another one, without injury, and since then I’ve completed many long-distance hikes from 25km to 100km and visited some stunning areas of the UK, in the process. Some hikes were for charity, others for the sheer joy of hiking and exploring.

I know how daunting a long-distance hike can be if you haven’t done it before, and that’s why I set up this blog.

My mission is to help you take on a long-distance hike, whether that’s a charity challenge, a personal goal, or just because you fancy exploring some beautiful parts of the UK.

I’d love to hear how you get on so please follow my social media channels and share your journey with me!
