Welcome to hike the long way!

My mission is to provide you with a beginners guide to long distance hiking, challenge walks and day hikes. I’m here to help you stretch your legs in the countryside and take on some of the UK’s wonderful long distance hikes, including challenges walks for charity, and just for fun.

Hello! I’m Rebecca, author of Hike the long way

I love getting out into the countryside at home in the UK, and also abroad. But my real passion is walking (or hiking!) long-distance. Whether it’s one of the UK’s fantastic National Trails, a 100km ultramarathon, or a one-day hike or challenge walk – I’m there. I spend nearly every weekend walking – whether its a group walk with friends, or a training walk for a long-distance challenge.

I hope that my articles on Hike the long way will inspire and encourage you to get out into the great British countryside, provide hints and tips that you find useful, and that you’ll share your experiences with me on social media!

You can find out more about me, and my long distance hiking background on the About page.
